Masters Swimming

As I am sure many of you know, or remember... few things are as fun or challenging as swim practice. Masters swimming is a great way to get back into shape, make new friends, and a chance to try something new!

Why Should You Masters Swim?

-Working out in water provides resistance- which has the similar effect as using weights. Swimming makes you all over strong!

Beginner Swimming Drills

-Swimming provides a full body workout & is one of the best cardiovascular workouts you can do.

-Gives you a chance to dust off that old tech-suit and compete!

-Meet new friends!

Zipper Drill- while swimming freestyle trace the outline of your body (hip to armpit) with your thumb.

3 pulls/6 kicks- take 3 freestyle pulls. On last pull arm stays extended in water while you kick 6 times. Focus on driving rotation with hips & kick instead of shoulders & arms.

Fist Drill- normal freestyle except your hands stay in a fist.

Catch-up Drill with kickboard-  one arm is on the kickboard while the other arm completes a stroke. Once your hand is back on the kickboard your other hand takes a stroke.
