A strong core allows greater power from your muscles and limbs. Increased core strength is the key to great performances even when you are fatigued.
I know... core strength is a phrase thrown around a lot in sports. But it is crucial in swimming-specifically fly. Everyone has seen young age-group swimmers struggle to get through fly sets at practice & meets. Most beginner swimmers simply do not have the core development to swim fly. Fortunately, that is something time and swimming will change. In the meantime, there are things you can do at home to help.
